Kitty’s Trip to the Vet

If you have read the about bit you would know I have two cats.  They are very different to each other, the only similarity is they both eat and are both feline.

One is a ginger female short haired moggy.  The other a mostly white female medium haired Turkish Van.  Both from the Lost Dogs Home.

The ginger one has been a little sick of late, nothing serious, just a cold type infection. So as it hadn’t gone last Friday we went to the vet and got tablets.  She doesn’t like to travel.  she screamed all the way there in the car.  I don’t own a car at the mo so some very obliging friends had to endure this as well.  She scratched the vet, she bit the vet.  As I was paying the fee for her privleges to do this she shat the cage so the nice receptionsist boy offered an empty room and clean towel so I could clean it up.  What he didn’t tell me was the cages in the room were on wheels, just high enough for a medium sized moggy to squeeze under.  “Meant to warn you about that” he said as she disappeared under them.  So I spent the last ten minutes of our visit flat on my stomach on the floor trying to get her out from under.  Needless to say I was highly amused.

Then you take the other cat.  She needed booster shots and a check up as I didn’t want her getting the infection too.  So last night I put her in the carry cage and off we walked down to the tram stop and off to the vets.  She meowed a bit on the way, I wasn’t too  concerned as it was her first tram ride.  I worked out on the way back that this was because I had put the cage facing the wrong way and she couldn’t see!  She loves her outings, as long as she can see everything that is going on.

She won the vet over, didn’t scratch or bite and didn’t even notice the needle.  On the way home, as we were walking down our street we were quite amused to see a local cat up the tree in front of a local dog’s house and the fire brigade there in full force to rescue poor kitty.
