This isn’t a direct attack on pensioners, more the media, I like pensioners.  My parents are pensioners and so are most of my brothers and sisters……. result of being the youngest of the family.

Watching a certain current affairs show on the box last night and they are again highlighting the fact there was no direct handout to pensioners in our new government’s first budget. 

We were lucky enough to be shown a little old pensioner out shopping at one of the more expensive supermarkets around town and buying all branded porducts.   I can’t afford to buy branded products. So why  isn’t she shopping at markets and the discount stores where very good quality food can be bought very cheaply.

You get the feeling that it is just another media beef up to create a semblance of a story that we might be interested in.  Didn’t work for me, I knew it was time to start channel surfing.

Then this morning on the box again away they go with “The Working Family”.  They even state that people may be getting sick of this rhetoric.  Damn right they are.  As a “Working Single” I’ve not heard any media hype about my category of household and how the budget will affect us.  Though I have read the overview and must say I am happy there has been benefits.  But the way they carry on you would think they were 90% of the voters.
